Ontario is currently still under restrictions due to COVID-19. Are you open?

Now, more than ever, we need to celebrate those closest to us. The ongoing pandemic has shown us the importance of connection. In particular, I think our kids are feeling the weight of all the restrictions and ongoing stress.

The good news is that we are, at this time, open for portrait sessions both in studio and on location. While following all the proper protocols, we can start the process of creating your one-of-a-kind artwork.

I want custom artwork of my child! What is the process?

That’s fantastic!

There are 5 steps:

Phone Call

Conversation and connection. We’ll start to get to know each other and talk about your family, what’s important to you and the artwork we can create together.

Design the Experience

At this in-person meeting you will have the opportunity to share your ideas, dreams and values so we can plan the perfect session for your child. In a collaborative process, we work together as a team. During this meeting, we discuss location, date, theme, clothing and props (if needed).

Portrait Session

This is where the magic happens! Sessions are held in my home studio or on location, depending on your needs and preferences. I set aside two hours for the session but I never book them back to back. With only one session booked each day, you have my full attention. If your session takes a little longer, no problem! And if it’s a little quicker, that’s great too!

"Big Reveal"

Your child's story on the big screen! Approximately one week later, you will return to the studio to view your images for the first time. This is an exciting moment but it can also be overwhelming. I will guide you through the process to help select your favourite images and the best products to display them. There will be no high-pressure sales tactics. This is all about providing images and products you will treasure. It is important that all decision makers are present for this appointment since your order will be placed and paid for at this time.

Artwork

Heirlooms to treasure for generations. When your products arrive in the studio, we will  arrange a date and time for you to pick them up. Care and handling instructions will also be given so that your family can enjoy these portraits for a lifetime. Turn around times vary depending on the product.

What is the best age to create my child’s portrait?

There is no right or wrong time to have your child’s portrait created.

Portraits can celebrate a milestone or pay tribute to the everyday moments that so easily fade from our memories.

Here are a few ideas, though...

Newborn

A new baby is tiny for such a short time!

First Birthday

Full of personality and wonder.

Off to School!

Don’t leave this important time in the hands of a standard school photographer. Celebrate your child’s growing independence and unique traits.

Grade 8 Graduation

Your child is finding their own path. Build their confidence by letting them help plan the session.

Teen Years

Your child is now becoming an adult. This is a time for discovering themselves and how they fit into the world around them.
