Kamini Le Capelain
This is the place where I’m supposed to tell you I was born with a camera in hand, photography my destiny. But that’s not my story. Growing up, I wanted to be an artist. Well, I wanted to be a jockey, until I grew too tall. I loved to draw, paint and even sculpt. Photography was not on my radar.
As the years went by, I left my dreams of art behind. Outside pressures led me to a life that was unfulfilling. Marking time as the days slipped by. When I was turning 30, tired of a life without meaning, I dropped everything and moved to Ireland. It was there that I discovered photography and the artistic spark reignited.
My path has been a winding one and I haven’t arrived at my destination … yet. Along the way, I’ve learned that the journey is the story. Our story is who we are. A sum total of our experiences, our dreams and our values.
