Congratulations to Jackie, the winner of the makeover contest at Wright Hair & Co.! She came into the studio a while ago for her makeover photo shoot and we had a great time. Her beautiful little girl joined us and we created some beautiful mother/daughter portraits!

ANNOUNCEMENT!

Today, I’d like to announce a very special upcoming event that is all about celebrating mothers. I think that most people would agree that no one ever loves you and takes care of you like your mother! So, to honour that very special relationship, I am offering a special day of Mother’s Day mini sessions on April 22. And, to help all the moms to feel their very best, these special sessions will include a mini makeover, provided by Wright Hair & Co.!

This is a wonderful gift for mothers, grandmothers, wives and stepmothers. And, it is a gift they will treasure forever, with beautiful portraits that capture their most precious relationships.

When: April 22 between 10am and 8pm

Where: At my studio – 469 Tecumseh Ave E

Now, keep in mind, I have a very limited number of sessions available and they will be booked up very quickly! Avoid disappointment and contact me right away to book yours!

Alaya was the winner of my recent Cute Kids contest and we recently got together for her custom portrait session. She is such a bright, adorable little girl and we came up with lots of fun portrait ideas. The best part was that her extended family decided to join us to create some very cool family portraits!

Will’s Piano Session

Today, I thought I’d share a few images from a recent session with Will. For this session, I went on location to Will’s home to photograph him with his family’s gorgeous piano. The added bonus of the session was that I got the chance to listen to him play some great music while I created his portraits.

One of my favourite things to do in a child’s session is to capture all of their many silly expressions! Happy face, sad face, fishy face…anything goes! They are so adorable and unique to each child! And the kids always have a blast, showing off for my camera!

Barb & Tim

I had so much fun photographing Barb and Tim, recently. Engagement portraits are quite common but it’s not often that couples think to have their portrait created “just” to celebrate their love. That’s what made this session so special! Tim is headed overseas this month and they decided that this was the perfect time to create something special. I agree. We had fun in the park, enjoying this year’s mild winter weather, and created portraits that reflect their loving (and somewhat goofy) relationship!

Last week, I had the pleasure of photographing Gia, an adorable baby girl. She was so alert for most of the session and I was able to really focus on her beautiful, blue eyes. With lots of little smiles and funny expressions, it’s clear that Gia’s little personality is already shining through!

January can be such a cold, dreary month, so I thought I’d try to find a way to brighten it up a bit. And, what better way to do that than with a contest to celebrate children? I want all of you to send me your snapshots of your kids’ greatest expressions. From award-winning smiles, to their silliest funny faces to their most adorable pouts…I want to see it all!

The PRIZES:

One Grand Prize of a complementary portrait session for your child and a 14 inch wall portrait.

One Second Place prize of a complementary portrait session for your child and an 8×10 gift portrait.

Everyone else who enters will receive a $50 gift card for Silent Poetry.

How to Enter:

Email your favourite photo of your child to Silent Poetry at kamini.lecapelain@silentpoetry.ca, between now and January 15, 2012 at 11:59 PM (EST).
Along with your photo, please provide your name, your child’s name and age and your telephone number.
On January 16, 2012, I will post all of the images to an album on my Facebook Page at https://www.facebook.com/silentpoetry.
Send all of your friends and family to vote by clicking “Like” on the photo. Please note that they will have to “Like” my page, before they are able to vote.
Voting will be open until January 31, 2012 at 11:59 PM (EST).
The image with the most “Likes” will win the Grand Prize and the runner-up will win the Second Place Prize.
The winners will be announced on February 1, 2012.

The RULES:

Only parents or legal guardians may enter their children into the contest.
One entry per family. Families with more than one child should send one photo showing all their children.
Child must be 12 years old or younger on the date of entry.
Submissions must NOT be professional photographs – I’m looking for your recent snapshots!
Photos will be accepted until January 15, 2012 at 11:59pm (EST) via e-mail.
Only photos e-mailed to kamini.lecapelain@silentpoetry.ca, with the subject line CUTE KID CONTEST will be accepted.
ONLY the child’s first name and age will be posted for viewing.
Contest is open to everyone, however the session must take place in London, Ontario. If you live out of the area, you are welcome to travel for your session.
Prizes are not transferable and may not be altered or changed in any way, are not redeemable for cash, and may not be combined with other promotions.
Prizes must be claimed by February 29, 2012.
Additional prints and products will be available for purchase at retail prices.
Winners must be willing to sign a portrait contract.
